[RL] - Farewell Dinner for Cohort 3 & Some Fun

The boys gave me a special slashy pose XD
Been a little bit busy today because my cohort (Cohort 4) arranged a farewell dinner for our seniors (Cohort 3). Refer to the pic above of me and three of my friends :3 I don’t know why, but those boys started making that slashy pose just for me. Heck, yeah~
Our seniors are going back to Malaysia after finals for another year in IPBA, and then they’re off as fresh grads and fully trained English teachers. This only means that 2008 is almost coming to an end, and I have less than 2 and a half years of study left before I’m posted at my first school and start working.
Joy… My students are going to get a yaoi fangirl for a teacher. I guess I need to wear some kind of I-don’t-know-what-you’re-talking-about smile if I’m found out one way or another. Ha… No, society. You won’t be able to pressure me! I’ll do what I have to do, so I’ll make sure I’m not questioned for whatever it is I do in my free time D:
Okay. I guess I REALLY need to remedy my tendency of going out of the main point of my post. I had so much fun tonight. The performances are great, though I missed some of them when I was washing the dishes at the back when we ran out of plates ;_; Bad planning on our parts, I know. The food was awesome. Chicken Curry Kapitan (seriously finger or cutlery-licking-ly tasty), fruit salad (watermelons + pineapples + strawberries, grapes, kiwis), and some snacks (cakes, cookies, etc). I had no idea watermelons are REALLY expensive here in Auckland. Imported, I guess that’s why it’s around $24/kg. I can get it for like RM3/kg in my hometown. *sigh*
We exchanged gifts, had a good laugh together, and just had fun with each other. Our coordinators were invited as well, and everybody danced the ‘Poco Poco Dance’. I’m uploading the video as I write this.
And then I suddenly realised that I have a portfolio to hand in by 4p.m tomorrow that I haven’t finished yet. Eh… I guess I’ll go work on it now.
p.s/ My SuzaLulu doujinshis (circle: Ashes to Ashes) ‘Arcadia‘ and ‘Garnet Red‘ arrived today! Now I only need to wait for my Knight Anthology 5. Hail JPQueen new and cheaper airmail shipping, which sometimes get my stuff to Auckland WAY FASTER than EMS. Or is it only the Japanese mail services that’s so efficient?
p.p.s/ Taishi, you’re right~ I need to inject J.info with some taste of my real life. It’s kind of like a proof of existence of some sorts, and that I don’t live for fandoms.

Oh, dear… I’ve been hacked and denied access for a few weeks. Now that things are setted, I can go about updating this blog. I miss it so much ~_~
I seriously didn’t expect my second semester of 2008 would be so hectic. That, plus the storm and costant rain here in Auckland which caused everything to be so gloomy. The sky is clear as I’m typing this entry, but I can still hear the sky rumbling.
This is a looooong overdue entry about the event I attended on… er… July 27. Yes, so long ago ~_~
The wind was pretty strong that day, and being the idiot that I was, I didn’t bother to check the weather services. It turned out that last Saturday recorded the worse storm in the last decade, which resulted in three deaths and a crap load of damages. But anyway, I went to the event with Mira and Kaara (the latter joined us a bit later) after mine and Mira’s scheduled meeting with our course coordinator, Sheryl. When we reached Mercure Hotel, we were almost frozen.
There were several cosplayers at the entrance; Kuchiki Rukia mulling over her pink handphone got me gigling before I went through the door to see the works on display and on sale by the exhibitor.
Go on reading for random pics and (cosplay) performance videos.

We have more pics of Suzuki-san! Can they be anymore evil. Stop promoting Suzuki-san so much if you’re not planning to export it! It depresses me T_T But really, teddy bears usually aren’t sold with that long arms and legs. I bet if we hold it, they’re going to dangle like Usagi’s Suzuki-san…
Aaahhhh!! But 15,000 yen… Even if they do ship it overseas, I shudder to think of the shipping cost. It would be nice if they put its weight there as well. At least I can dream on make a shipping-cost estimation.
And some info on Junjou Romantica Anime DVD, ‘Nakamura Shungiku Panic!’.

- CL-DX Mangetsu Monogatari - September 1st
- Ruby Bunko Junai Romantica 6 - October 1st (what?!)
So… Junai Romantica 6, huh? I haven’t even read the 4th one yet. They don’t want to give me any break, huh?
And the Special Postcard Book… I have a feeling it’s going to be sold on eBay. For a good price.
It actually hasn’t been confirmed that the second season of Junjou Romantica will be determined by the sale of the DVDs. Surely, they aren’t THAT cruel, are they? But if you’ve got money to spare, please do buy the DVD for your own sake and for the sake of Junjou Romantica (and us the loyal fans worldwide) XD
The 1st anime DVD will also give you the trademark Rubber Ducky (ahh! me wants!) and 8-page liner notes/booklet. So they’re selling Suzuki-san and raising the price of the 1st DVD because of the ducky (ahiru-san?). So why don’t the 2nd DVD come with the trademark moustache-san panda?
Heh…

Doujin Overload 2008
Date: 26 July 2008
Time: 10.00am - 5.00pm.
Location: Mercure Hotel, 8 Customs Street East, Auckland.
For animanga fans who will be in New Zealand (and most importantly, around Auckland) during this winter break, let’s check out this event together!
A bit too early to announce, but since the registration for DO2008 is now closed, I guess it’s ok to give the announcement ahead of time. I’m glad that it’s held on the 26th. I’ll be able to go and have a look at the exhibition since I’ll be on Winter break then. Customs St East is only about 5 minutes away from my place too. I want to see how this years exhibition goes. Looking at the official site, I saw some awesome names I knew from Deviantart (like Hiyaku-Studio), so I’ll be looking forward to the
Events to look forward to:
- Final Fantasy Piano solo concert (oh, yes! I absolutely must be there!)
- Gundam & Figure exhibition
- Cosplay (so tempting…)
