IT’S OVER!!! THE NAKED TRUTH ARC IS OVER!!

I don’t know if I should feel sad or happy right now. I’ve been waiting for this arc to be over for like… forever! Now that it’s over and done with, I really am going to miss all the ‘desperately waiting for the next chapter because 2 months is a long wait’ routine. But but but!!

HANDS UP WHO THINKS THE CONCLUSION IS WAAAAAAAAAAAY TOO SHORT!! D:< I know I do.

Yamane-sensei spared us the angst of Akihito really getting shot. Asami was relieved to see the bullet isn’t dislodged in Akihito’s body. and here I was hoping for some bitersweet angst. In his shocked state, Akihito didn’t notice Asami holding him at first. But when he noticed (T for Takaba, because Asami already has the A):

T: Asami… Why… Why…
T: WHY DIDN’T YOU COME SOONER!
T: I WAITED FOR YOU!! I WAITED FOR SIGNS OF YOU!!
A: MY BAD…
T: I… Nothing but you… I did nothing but wait for you…

Oh my God….

Akihito shielded Fei Long from Asami. He didn’t want both of them to go on having grudges on each other, and wanted all the rivalry between them to stop. They needed to come to an understanding. Fei Long, for my absolute relief, was sincere when he said he kind-of fell for Akihito :3

And Yoh… YOH! I think I can hope for a Yoh x Fei properly now?

How come Mikhail got such an unimportant closure, though? I thought for sure he’d at least be injured. He just looked totally bored at the end.

The long awaited Asami x Akihito smex is so sweet beyond words. Asami was thinking of Takaba, and how he definitely wouldn’t want to let go of him anymore. His thoughts are sweeeeeeeetttt (too much for a yakuza):

Angry Suzaku Is One Hot Suzaku~

• Lulu hid behind Shinkirou (while thinking of a way to Geass Charles) to prevent direct eye contact with with Charles, afraid that he would be Geassed again. Haha…
• Lelouch’s way of trying to Geass Charles (”I, Lelouch vi Britannia order you to drop dead lol die!” (TRYING to is the keyword) is absolutely awesome! Reminds me of Kanda (DGM) when he faced Skin Boric
• CHARLES REALLY IS IMMORTAL!!!!! Goddammit, I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! His marking is on his palm instead of on the forehead. Geez… Not like it would ruin you already ruined image or something…
• VV was so cute when they were young, but I didn’t get to see little Charles. I blame Sunrise fully for obscuring little Charles from view. Or wait, was that Charles?
• Back to CC’s contract with Lulu and her wish… Her wish, is for her existence to end (?). I was annoyed to the extent where I got slack-jawed when CC said Lulu’s reason for living and whatnot were all twisted by her - that he had been fooled all this time. No shit. This is actually the same thing that the nun who gave young CC the power of Geass said to her when her Geass progressed to the point where the marking in the left eye spread to the other eye permanently. Young CC was annoyed that it’s been keeping her away from … her suitors… (I’d be annoyed by that eye too. Like of course!) and wanted to end the contract. And the nun… went all crazy and blurted out “You’ve been fooled!”. I was like O_o…
• C.C: “V.V… Did you like Marianne?” <<< Dun dun dun…. Can we shoot down the theory of VV hating Marianne now? He looked (and sounded) so sincere…
• Suzaku… didn’t get to drug Kallen. Phew… He was slapped (like many of us expected Kallen to do), which is REALLY good. Well, he pushed her down and tried to drug her, but then Kallen whined “Onii-chan”… Well, yay! Thank God the spoiler about him accidentally getting a refrain shot while struggling with Kallen didn’t come true. I’d be annoyed if he remembers Euphie at this point Suzaku just smashed the thing to the floor.
• Suzaku… is now conviced that Lulu IS Zero. He went to school looking all hot and bothered (squee!). No Rolo in sight, no Viletta, Geassed intelligent team telling him they didn’t know where Lelouch Lamperouge is… Of course he’d know right away something was wrong. I damn sure wuould too if I was in his shoes. Aha~ (Lloyd’s style)
• NUNNALLY IS THE ULTIMATE LIE-DETECTOR!!!! She can tell that people are lying if she holds their hands and hear them answer her questions. Har har har… She tried to do the same to Suzaku, but Suzaku retracted his hand REALLY fast before she could catch him lying. “
• Suzaku to Nunnally: “I won’t lie to you”… BIIIIIGG LIIEEE!!! Meh.
• Nunnally to Suzaku: “You’re the same as Onii-sama” <<< When he pulled his hand away.
• Nunnally to Romeyer: “The Governess (Governor-General)… is ME.” <<<< Another WIN factor of Turn 15~
• Nina’s Nuke has been tested… and proven effective. Schneizel and the rest of the team congratulated her. Well, I hate that the Nuke spoiler sounds like it’s becoming true.
• Schneizel to Nina: “You’re really a genius”. <<<< Dammit Schneizel, you just keep brainwashing the crazy girl!
• Viletta and Ougi met, had a talk, mainly Viletta asking him why would he save an officer (herself) of the Britannian army. Sayoko interrupted (well, Viletta was technically pointing the gun at Ougi), got into a duel with Viletta. Ougi tried to stop them, protected Viletta and fell down the cliff… Viletta went after him. (I so love OugiViletta!!!) To be continued, for this couple…
• Rolo freaked out. He finally noticed Lulu was nowhere to be found.
• Rolo fed the ‘This is Zero’s order’ and ‘This place is the Britannian secret base operation’ shit to the OoBK members, who are now having HUGE doubts about Zero.
• Jeremiah is one compassionate hottie man, and I’m a happy fangirl~
• NO CORNELIA!!!!!!! T____T
• Lulu to CC: “Your true wish… I know what it is.” <<<< Evil cliffhanger!

Code Geass R2 Turn 14 Rant & Review

Is it possible to love Suzaku but wanting to torture him until he can no longer speak at the same time?

I’m at loss for words, and I can’t even comment properly on the sudden battle between Lulu plus some random OotBK members against the Geass Cult.

I mean…

HOW DARE SUZAKU FEEDS SOME BULLSHITS TO KALLEN THAT THE ONE WHO KILLED SHIRLEY WAS LELOUCH?!!

And get that refrain out of the way, you sneaky little @$#%TWAsdadr@#*!

Small conclusions/impressions:

• Rolo admitted to killing Shirley… Brave, kid. Really brave, or maybe I should say ‘thoughtless’ instead?
• I have to give Lulu lots of credits for managing to appear calm after Shirley’s death, unlike the mess Suzaku seemed to put himself in after Euphie died.
• When did Lulu actually have the set installed in front of the entrance? Even I thought he was still in Ashford O_o
• Is Suzaku completely evil, or is he completely desperate to go against Lulu? I love him and all, but for him to persuade Kallen this way… Feeding Kallen the bullshit that Lulu killed Shirley is one thing, but to drug her with refrain is another… WTF Suzaku?!!!
• I think we were wrong when we thought VV expected Jeremiah to go against him. Apparently, he was shocked to find Lelouch at the other end of the line when the call connected. And if his “Jeremiah, even you too…!!” means anything, then he really didn’t expect this.
• Took VV a while to notice the one in Vincent was Rolo.
• Charles’ “My son Lelouch! The time has come!’ comment now convinced me that the stage for the finale had been planned all along… Ugh.
• The little kids with Geass ability that we saw in the scans before is <3 They called Rolo ‘Rolo-oniichan’~ Now I really don’t want Rolo to die, though Lulu was ready to detonate Vincent in order to trap/kill VV. Too bad Rolo killed the kids~
• LOL at Toudou and Chiba in the bedroom ~__~
• CC’s apology to the cult members before destroying them, saying they were all in the mess now because of her ’sin’. Needs Turn 15 now!
• VV, with his hair in a mess, looks so much like Clovis.
• Bartley x Clovis should be made canon (j/k!)

Code Geass R2 Turn 13 Rant & Review

As soon as this episode finished airing, I was left with my chopstick slacken in my hand, and tears in my eyes and mixed feelings. At the beginning, my internet connection was being so stupid that I felt so frustrated because I’ve been looking forward to this episode.

It started off with Shirley’s dream. The mask we see in the preview of the previous episode was a part of Shirley’s mind. She was getting paranoid with the rush of her returned memories. Shirley was so confused that she didn’t trust anyone. But she did remember the fact that Lelouch was indeed Zero who caused the death of her late father.

And then we were presented with Jeremiah killing off the Intelligence team stationed at Ashford in his search for Lelouch. Viletta and Rolo were alerted of his presence. Jeremiah found Sayoko, who flat out refused to tell him where Lelouch was. She would protect her Lelouch-sama, and got into a duel with Jeremiah.

Rolo tried to stop them, activating his Geass on Jeremiah to allow Sayoko to finish him off. However, Jeremiah got the better of Sayoko and stabbed her. At this point, Miracchin and I was like “Noooo! Don’t die Sayoko!!” because we really don’t want her dead! With Sayoko fallen, Rolo was left alone to deal with Jeremiah. He tried to Geass Jeremiah again, but Jeremiah’s Geass Canceler cancelled his Geass.

Code Geass R2 Turn 12 - “Love Attack!”

So, the show ended 30 minutes ago. Since I’ll be watching some anime shows right when it airs, I’ll make a habit of reviewing or blogging about them as soon as I’m done watching from now onwards. Aaaannndd…. SPOILER ALERT!!!!

TURN 12 THOUGHTS & OVERVIEW
Despite the fact that I only got to watch half of this episode (due to some stupid broadcasting failure), I’m still left with a very dazed expression after the preview for the next Turn.

It’s Milly’s graduation event (卒業イベント） and she proposed the Cupid’s Day (キューピットの日）to celebrate.

Yes, Sayoko as Lelouch gave Milly an impression that the guy had been hiding some kind of physical prowess under his bikini/speedo sleeves. All the acrobatic moves… Oh dear. I’m kind of glad that Suzaku wasn’t there when Sayoko pulled all that stunt. Sayoko also blissfully destroyed Lelouch’s straightness further in this Turn. Sidetracked by sexy girls and ignoring them completely - normal people would think that Lelouch is obviously not straight XD

My darling Gino was surrounded by chirpy girls who hoped to get a piece of the Knight of Three.

And Anya…. OMBFG Anya… She freaking unleashed Mordred upon the school to search for Lelouch. I was like WTF girl! Don’t bring that killing machine into school grounds. Suzaku’s shock at being informed of Mordred’s appearance at Ashford was justified, because I would have been shocked too. Seriously! You’d normally only use that thing in combat or practice. Anybody would think that the school was under Order of the Black Knights’ attack or something. It happened before, after all.

It’s even funnier that Suzaku and Guilford actually made a mad dash, I mean, flew in their Knightmares to inspect the commotion only to find out that it’s Milly’s graduation ceremony.

The Ceremony (Cupid’s Day)
… ended very sweetly. Rivalz was a bit down, muffling “Are you really graduating, President?”. It made him look cute, really~ And while I don’t like Shirley all that much, it was sweet the way she thanked Milly for “everything”. And Suzaku even got out of Lancelot to congratulate her (he was too much in a rush that he was still wearing his Rounds uniform, sans the cape).

Milly ended up delivering weather casts on TV! I like her new hairstyle. She’s one of the female characters that I actually like in animes (along Kallen and a few others).

The Suspense
Orenji-kun appeared! His freaky orange (why the colour, Jeremiah?) Phantom-of-the-Opera-esque mask is like Zero’s. It opened up at the eyes, conveniently made so he could cast his Geass. I don’t know how far does the range of his Geass extend to, but it must have been pretty awesome (until I see the preview for next week).

Shirley, for the (insert numbers bigger than 2 here) time, got Geassed AGAIN. This time by Jeremiah. And the suspense? She remembered all the stuff she forgot:

“I remember… My father was killed by Zero… Lelouch.”

Enter the ending credits. Woe…　I went “CRAAAPP!!!!” at the last part. And to add to the cliche and dramatic-ness of the scene, it was raining. (Season 1, rain, soaked Shirley - ring a bell?)

The Confusion
When Anya was looking for Lelouch in her Mordred, she almost crashed into the library when she sensed him there. And I know it wasn’t my imagination when she said “There’s two Lelouch…?” in her usual monotonous way of speaking. Surely she would not be stupid enough to believe in somebody else’s craps that it’s just a part of a plan?

Thoughts on the Preview of Turn 13
Suzaku and Lelouch, along with Shirley (who called Suzaku in the first place) went out together. And hey, Suzaku and Lelouch were wearing the exact same clothes they wore in the first season. Red versus blue. Suzaku still had the sunglasses too. With Shirley walking in front, I’d say the two of them looked like they were on a date Sorry, yaoi fangirlism got the better of me ~_~

Jeremiah, it seems, will lose to Lelouch YET again. Oh Orenji-kun, when will you learn? Will you ever learn, by the way? That guy is the main character, for idiot’s sake. Don’t think you’ll get the better of him anytime soon. Gimme the Jeremiah Gottwald who adored his Lelouch-sama and Nunnally-sama back!! And gimme back my Suzaku who loved Lelouch as his darling friend!!

It’s only been 30 minutes after Turn 12 ended, and already I can’t wait for Turn 13 to air next week! Aahh~ I’ll update this post with screencaps and (hopefully) direct download links later Need to continue moving files @_@

Vampire Knight 39 and A Musing

It looks like Vampire Knight (VK) is finally showing signs of reaching the finishing line. I know I’d feel rather sad when it really ends, but the relief of having less thing to read (okay, that’s so not true because I would probably seek another after VK) will definitely make me feel better.

As much as I like to see Yuuki looking all vampire-ish with her big, wild eyes and her long hair, I’m getting a bit impatient here. I’m looking forward to see her power. We’ve seen Aidou’s ice and Akatsuki’s fire (my, my… no wonder Akatsuki is practically Aidou’s ‘retainer’. These cousins complement each other well :P). We’ve seen Kaname’s blast of power as well. We have yet to see Yuuki’s. Plus, it has not yet been explained as to why Yuuki keeps seing the memory in her head. She was very little. She couldn’t have turned mad at such an age. And according to the flashback in the previous few chapters, the only blood she saw was probably Juuri’s. And that brings me to another confusion.

What did Juuri do to Yuuki to suppress her memory and her vampire instinct? How could it have killed her? Was whatever she did uncommon?

The closer I stick to the manga, the more I arch my eyebrows at the anime. Somehow, I know the plot is going to differ a great deal towards the end of the anime, unless Hino-sensei gave Studio Deen the original manga ending. Or maybe the anime will be left ‘hanging’.

Ah, damn. Not another one.

Back to the manga. I’m glad the latest chapter gives me some Zero-Ichiru interaction. Such a cliffhanger. I don’t care if he just shot at at his brother (the heart! the heart!!!) with the bloody rose, Zero can’t die yet! Not after Kaname just told him he’s going to be the one who’s going to kill Rido!!!

At least that’s what I hope

p.s/ Well, maybe Kaname has already replaced the gun with a fake one. Haha…

Houkago Hokenshitsu (After School Nightmare)

I finally finished reading until the last volume of this manga. For a few minutes, I sat looking at the last page in a mixture of confusion, disbelief, and a little bit of frustration. I should have known that many things would not go the way I wanted considering there was just so much to wrap up in just one volume.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with this manga, it’s a 10-volume series centering on Ichijou Mashiro, who has the upper body of a guy but the lower parts of a girl. Since Mashiro likes to believe that he is a guy, I’ll just refer to him as ‘he’ (although I want so much to refer to him as ’she’). The setting of the manga is an elite boarding school where you have to attend and pass a special class in order to graduate. It does not matter what year you’re in. When it’s time for you to graduate, you will be called to graduate. No, wait a moment, you’ll be called to attend the special class. And in the class, you’ll need to past a test in order to graduate. If you fail, you need to keep trying.

The special class?

It’s actually a dreamscape of some sort, in which those chosen students meet in a single dream world and compete against each other to find a key that will enable them to open the door that will get them to graduate. The students all take form of their ‘true face’,  true feelings, innermost desire, or whatever it is you want to call. If your heart is ugly, so is your form in the dream.

Mashiro started feeling a bit disoriented when he could not remember the faces or even the names of his classmates that have graduated. He noticed that more seats were empty as days pass by, and lockers in the Kendo clubroom were less occupied. Still, he could not remember who they were. It was almost like they disappeared from everyone’s memory without a trace once they graduated.

Tangled up in the mystery of the need of the special class and the strange graduation system of the school, Mashiro got himself into more dilemmas when he befriended Fujishima Kureha, a girl with intense hatred towards the male population (it appeared she was raped by some psycho when she was five). Kureha knew Mashiro’s state of being not a guy but also not a girl, which drew them closer. They started going out later. At the same time, Mashiro was the object of interest, lust and affection in the eyes of his classmate, Mizuhashi Sou. It also appeared that Sou had been secretly in love with Mashiro for a long time.

Beyond this line are all spoilers. If you haven’t read this manga, you might want to back off. But if you’re a person who just love spoilers (like me! Well, spoilers intrigue me~), you can go ahead. If you’ve read the manga, or better - finished the manga, I’d love for you to get me into any kind of discussion about this manga. (by the way, I have the English scans of volume 1 - 5, and Japanese raws for 6 - 10. Anyone wants direct downloads?)
