Junjou Romantica 2 - Episode 04
Junjou Romantica 2 - Episode 4
口は災いの元 ( Out of the Mouth Comes Evil )
Lit: The mouth is the source of disaster
Yawns… I’m feeling extremely sleepy for God knows why. I thought I already had enough rest these past few days, but apparently my body is trying to catch up to all the rest that I lost during the hectic months I was tortured by streams after streams of assignments and courseworks. That aside, time for episode 4! And Junjou Egoist :3
Bittersweet fluffy angst is how I’ve been describing JE, and this episode is no exception. Nowaki just doesn’t realise that by calling Hiroki ‘Hiro-san’, he’s on a whole different level compared to everyone else. It doesn’t matter if it sounds less romantic, but hey, you’re special~ And I bet Hiroki would be 100% more flustered if you were to call him just ‘Hiroki’. For me, it would bring your cuteness down a few notch (don’t ask me why).
Eh… Why the heck was I addressing Nowaki when I type O_o?
Anyways, Nowaki’s wild imagination is fully animated, and it KILLED me with serious bouts of laughter.
Junjou Egoist and the classic of classics ‘catch me if you can’ + ‘ahahahahaha~’ scene. (Now I can never listen to Abarai Renji’s voice the same way again *__*)
Er, ahem… I don’t blame Nowaki for feeling insecure every once in a while. He’s so quiet it probably hurt sometimes. It’s only a little bit funny that Junjou Egoist walks on the longest timeline but takes longer to untangle. Guh, egoists… The end scene below is supposed to be sweet/romantic, but I seriously LOLed into my pillow.
“But Hiro-san is always more beautiful“. alskdjfhg NOWAKI~~~ How much sweeter can you be
Go watch if you haven’t already :3 And for a weekly JR poll….
[Site Related] - JR Related Links Help & Hosting

Point # 1
I’m trying to build a Junjou Romantica related links database (sort of), and I’ll be needing J.info readers’ help in doing so. Basically, I need links to sites that focus specifically on JR or anything related to JR. And maybe sites that specifically focus on Shungiku-sensei’s works too.
Japanese illustration sites, fansites, fanlistings, wikis, livejournal accounts/communities, other journal communities, forums,… Anything that has JR as their main focus :3
If you’re contributing some links, do reply to this entry with the following:
Site Name: _______
Site URL: _________
Site Owner: (if known)
If you’re a site owner, leave your name as well~
Point # 2
The server is very much stable now, and I couldn’t be happier. If you’re thinking of creating a JR related site, you’re more than welcome to apply for hosting. I can host small sites (domains or subdomains). We really DO need more JR fansites on the net, and I’d be more than happy to help. If you’re hosting a domain name, you’ll get cPanel and Fantastico. If you’re choosing a subdomain, you can choose either http://yoursite.junjou.info OR http://yoursite.junjou.org. Scanlation groups looking for hosting are invited as well.
Much love from me! *goes back to assignment*

Takahashi Misaki’s predicament in
Junjou Romantica 2 - Episode 3
三度目の正直
I waited for this to be anime-fied XD I figured I should write about this before I go and prepare myself for today’s presentation (and one linguistic assignment ;_;). I’d forget otherwise. I really like the episode titles starting from the first episode. They’re so interconnected in a good way, or a bad way if you happen to be Misaki. What happens once will happen twice, followed by never twice without thrice and now the third time’s the charm.
Misaki tried to contact Haruhiko about the mountain of strawberry thingies, and couldn’t get through. Usagi being Usagi, simply refused to cooperate and tell him how to reach Haruhiko.
Senpai makes his appearance again, with a premonition of something definitely not so nice when he said, “You think that I actually like Usami-sensei?”

“The one I like is Misaki”
Quit it, Senpai. We all know what is actually going on in your head and we’re not amused.
Haruhiko practically kidnapped Misaki right after class just when Misaki was grumbling to himself… “And the problem is…”. Perfect timing indeed. The good thing about the whole kidnapping thing is that we get to hear about Usagi’s lonely childhood. How indeed did he grow up with that foul mouth O_o
Eh, actually what I was waiting for is the part where Misaki saw the maids and the butler of the Usami mansion, and went “Is this really Japan?!” when he tried to get out of Usagi’s old room.
And yay for possessive Usagi :3 Sibling rivalry over the same guy is just hillarious, both of you. I only wish there’d be some sort of brotherly interaction between them that can be interpreted as ’secretly hidden care’ or someting instead of just plain “I don’t like you” or “Get out of my business”. Maybe I just love siblings who are at each other’s neck while they actually care about each other DEEP down, though they may be in denial about it.
We now have everyone ALL over Misaki. It brings me to a rather cute question about Misaki’s manliness (or the lack of it).
p.s/ New Viewfinder Naked Truth chapter today! *is giddy*

Takahashi Misaki-kun’s Strawberry Life~ in
Junjou Romantica 2 - Episode 2
二度ある事は三度ある
What happens twice is likely to happen thrice, just like the saying “Never Twice WIthout Thrice”. Misaki’s bad luck just keep coming. And in the anime verse, we’re just about to see how far his Usamimone (Usami + Pheromone) would bring him. As much as I’d like to watch Egoist right now, I want more of Romantica’s story, not because they’re the main focus but because of the Usami-family conflict. No, I’m totally not biased towards Haruhiko’s seiyuu XD
This episode is where Usagi-san starts hinting at Misaki about how Misaki haven’t yet tell him he loves him (too many him confuses me).
“I haven’t gotten an ‘I like you’ from you yet”
I’m so waiting for Misaki’s nonchalant confession in the ferris wheel, and his possesive “Usagi-san is MINE” towards his senpai.
Asahina is at least 10 times more charming in the anime than he is in the manga!
Apologising on Isaka’s behalf, as per usual. I swear, Shungiku-sensei, I’m seeing a pattern here. Something like Asahina’s one-sided love for Isaka… Isaka’s long time one-sided love for Haruhiko… Geh. Give us a side story already. Hehe…
And we come back to the main point of the title: the premonition of Misaki’s bad luck with the Usamis. Haruhiko has now made his moves on Misaki. His way of showing affection is to shower his object of affection with materials (guh, rich bastard!), hence the mountains of strawberry-related items sent Misaki’s way at the end of the episode. All just because Misaki said he likes strawberry, though at that point Misaki only meant the strawberry cake, I’m sure.
Favourite scene, not counting the smex part:
“I think I’m going to steal you away from Akihiko
I like you”
Hard to believe that they’re half brothers, with that same look and same tone and manner of speaking. He even sounds cooly romantic. The wonderful power of seiyuus…
Aaand a poll time for this episode! Cast your vote, darlings~
Junjou Romantica Webcomic Project

10-minute Chibitan :3
Don’t worry. It’s totally unrelated to official stuff. Sorry if I gave you a random scare with my antics.
I figure I won’t be working, or maybe I’ll just do minor designing work for some extra money. So then… yes, web comic, like what we usually find on Japanese fandoms sites. I’ll be doing for some other fandoms too, just to fill my time this holiday. Not just to kill time, actually. I’m looking forward to sharpening my non-existent art skills too. And JR is getting more and more popular since it went mainstream with the anime release, but the lack of fanworks is killing me. I’m glad that JR communities are growing (go join JR comm on LJ now! XD) around the net, and I think it’s time I join the fandom world of JR too.
Anyone who wishes to join in and have their fanworks featured, please contact me. For now, let’s do some polling for my project. Thank you in advance for those who contribute to this polls/comment on this entry!
EDIT: How come the votes for the genres are more than the pairing O_o? Hmm…
Let’s start with the basic first.
And then the second most important one.
Yup, that’s all from me for now. Comments and suggestions are absolutely welcomed for improvements.
p.s/ Hands up for JR direct downloads this week?

Title: Junjou Romantica ~Koi no Dokidoki Daisakusen
Genre: Junjou Adventure (LOL! What awesome genre :P)
Release Date: 30th October 2008
Price:
(a) Limited Edition - 9,429 yen
(b) Regular Edition - 7,329 yen
Well, again, I am almost 5 days late, but I’ll just write this to share my excitement.
I guess many of us know about the PS2 game for Junjou Romantica - the title and what it’s about. I’m just overly excited because my brother agreed to buy it for my birthday, even if that’s after me dropping lots of hints and promoting the awesomeness of JR t him. He was like, “But don’t play it when the kids are around.” Yeah right, from someone who taught his 3-year-old daughter how to play RPG games on PSP.
Er… Back to the original topic… I’m starting to hate the term ‘limited edition’ with a passion when it comes to JR. No, seriously! The limited edition DVD will come with:
- Shungiku-sensei’s artwork on the package
- a Special Voice CD containing the voice of all 6 characters throughout the entire game,
- a Dokidoki Visual Artbook - character sketches and arts from the game (please tell me that someone would eventually sell this on eBay!)
- 3 plastic bookmarks that have the mascots (one mascot per bookmark, I guess) on them.
For those who pre-orders, they’ll also get two cases for cards/passes (originally intended for fangirls, I’m sure…)
For info, summary and discussion (and lots of giggles), check out this thread on our forum~

‘Takano-san loves Onodera-kun a lot~’
Upload’s done! CLAMP-SENSEI RECOMMENDS SEKAI ICHI HATSUKOI: There was a rumour going on before, that Clamp would be doing an illustration comment on the release of Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi tankoubon. So, there you go~ The rumoured illustration comment from Clamp-sensei stated in Romantica Club promo pamphlet. (Ha! I always knew Clamp is a strong supporter of BL, but I wish they’d hurry up with Gohou Drug.) Next time, I should check with Kadokawa Shoten first. This tankoubon… only includes the first two chapters of Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi - the first chapter that was published in THE RUBY in November 2006 and the second chapter that was pubished in THE RUBY VOL.2 in July 2007. No chapter 3, so NO ISAKA T_T. Thank goodness Shungiku-sensei presented us with chapter 2.5, and a very pretty full-coloured illustration (gah! the Nowaki-Shinobu resemblance is still uncanny!) Seriously, Kadokawa had to be joking when they said ‘only one volume’. SIH can’t have only one volume!! With the publication of the 4th chapter, this call for another tankoubon! Grr…

I’ll put that issue aside first. By the way, we already have Suzuki-san, piyo (cute little chicks~), ahiru (rubber ducky) and pandas as the mascots for Junjou series. I think we have mascots too for SIH. This cute bunny (and a cat that only appeared in the Drama CD cover so far)~
I guess we all should have seen this coming, since SIH is still in Junjou universe. So now, before download links are posted, I’ll write some info on what SIH is all about for those who haven’t read it.
Characters: Saga/Takano Masamune, Onodera Ritsu, Yokozawa Takafumi, Hatori Yoshiyuki (reminds me of JR’s Asahina), Kisa Shouta, Mino Kanade
Background Info + Summary: Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi (SIH) is a love comedy between Onodera Ritsu and Takano Masamune, set in Nakamura Shungiku’s famous Junjou Romantica universe. The characters are employees working for Marukawa Shoten (yes, that also translates as Isaka’s employees). While Junjou gives us the novel-publishing part of the company, SIH allows us to see the manga-publishing part of Marukawa, where Takano is the editor-in-chief for a shoujo manga publication. His subordinates are constantly pressured into working extra hours, and Ritsu, who transferred to Marukawa from Onodera Shuppan (his father’s company), got himself into more than one trouble with his own decision.
That is… Takano Masamune happened to be Saga Masamune, his senpai whom he went out with 10 years ago when they were still at school. Takano and Ritsu didn’t part on good terms; Ritsu believed that he was toyed by Takano when his declaration of love was answered with a laugh. Takano, however, had no idea Ritsu thought that way, and couldn’t forget Ritsu even after 10 years. He couldn’t be with anybody else because of his memory of Ritsu, and Ritsu couldn’t be with anybody else because of Takano too. Now, as they meet each other again in a new environment, Takano firmly tells Ritsu “I’ll make you say you love me again. Prepare yourself!”. Ritsu is torn between the affection he still holds for Takano and his feelings of being hurt.
As if Ritsu is not troubled enough by having to see Takano every day at work, he later finds out that Takano is actually his next-door neighbour:
Takano: That’s fast.
Takano: Have you come to confess already?
Ritsu: Huh? What are you talking about? Speaking of which, this is…
Ritsu: … my house, but… (since about a year ago)
Takano’s is #1201 while his is #1202. This explains why he keeps feeling his heartbeat getting faster in Takano’s presence, not only because Takano is Saga-senpai, his first love and first heartbreak.
To make things worse while Takano and Ritsu play a game of hide-and-seek and hard-to-get (on Ritsu’s part, at least), Ritsu is cornered occasionally by the manager, Yokozawa Takafumi (dubbed as Marukawa Shoten’s famous violent bear), who is a close acquaintance of Takano. Can he just fall in love peacefully this time around?? Yokozawa obviously knows who Ritsu is, and of Ritsu and Takano’s past, based on this conversation:
Yokozawa: Did you come because you know Masamune is in Marukawa?
Ritsu: Huh? Excuse me, what are you talking about?
Yokozawa: Do you know that it’s your fault Masamune became all strange?
Ritsu: ‘Huh? My fault? What is? What is this person saying?’
Ritsu: Er… Excuse me. You meant to say that…
Yokozawa: … I don’t want to worry about it.
The resemblance between Yokozawa and Takano is uncanny. But well, Yokozawa also looks a LOT like Isaka. I thought they were brothers at first. I was like “Ah, too bad his name isn’t Isaka.” Or maybe he’s related to Takano, because he calls Takano by his first name (Ritsu is troubled by this). Download to read it yourselves~ All of my scans for SIH are either 300dpi or 150dpi in quality, hence the size. Also, note that in SIH, chapters are called ‘No.’ (as in number, #) as opposed to ‘Act’ in JR.

We have more pics of Suzuki-san! Can they be anymore evil. Stop promoting Suzuki-san so much if you’re not planning to export it! It depresses me T_T But really, teddy bears usually aren’t sold with that long arms and legs. I bet if we hold it, they’re going to dangle like Usagi’s Suzuki-san…
Aaahhhh!! But 15,000 yen… Even if they do ship it overseas, I shudder to think of the shipping cost. It would be nice if they put its weight there as well. At least I can dream on make a shipping-cost estimation.

And the Special Postcard Book… I have a feeling it’s going to be sold on eBay. For a good price.
It actually hasn’t been confirmed that the second season of Junjou Romantica will be determined by the sale of the DVDs. Surely, they aren’t THAT cruel, are they? But if you’ve got money to spare, please do buy the DVD for your own sake and for the sake of Junjou Romantica (and us the loyal fans worldwide) XD
The 1st anime DVD will also give you the trademark Rubber Ducky (ahh! me wants!) and 8-page liner notes/booklet. So they’re selling Suzuki-san and raising the price of the 1st DVD because of the ducky (ahiru-san?). So why don’t the 2nd DVD come with the trademark moustache-san panda?
Heh…

I’m supposed to order my copy of Junai Egoist volume 3 and Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi, but I haven’t gotten around to doing so just yet. I guess I’ll pay for my July accommodation fees first and then think about it. Anyway, here I’m sharing 3 volumes of Junai Romantica novels and 2 volumes of Junai Egoist. Everything’s in Japanese, but you’d like the Shungiku-sensei’s marvellous artwork.
For the curious: Junai Romantica and Junai Egoist are supposedly the BL novel series written by Usagi as Akikawa Yayoi. The novels are actually written by Fujisaki Miyako, and illustrated by Shungiku-sensei. I get lots of LOLs and AWWs from reading the novels, and I haven’t finished them yet! Reading and looking up unfamiliar kanji characters made my eyes go all *_* and @_@. Ahaha~
The illustrations are… um… explicit, but some are really sweet. Though I think we could do with some more illustrations. Back to the novel. Since they are novels written by Usagi, you can expect loads of smexing and of course, OOCness. I don’t know how Usagi views Nowaki, but his version of Nowaki is drool-inducing and… slightly (I lied. It should be ‘a lot’ instead of ’slightly’ XD) more perverted in the novels. You’ll need a fan at the ready~ Recommended for all JR fans with Japanese language knowledge, and for collectors who simply love Shungiku-sense’s artworks. There are manga snippets in the novel too, especially the ones dealing with Misaki’s reaction upon reading the novels. And to celebrate the decision to make direct downloads available again… here you go.

It’s finally out XD
純情ロマンチカファンのみんなさんの人気者ぬいぐるみ~ The favourite teddy bear of Junjou Romantica fans~
Made to be in the actual sofa-hogging size of the Usami household, of course I want one! It doesn’t matter that I already have a huge teddy at home given to me by a friend on my last birthday, I want another large teddy. Even more now that it’s the ever adorable Suzuki-san!
It’s scheduled to be released sometime in September 2008, retailing at 15,000 yen (including tax) which is around $142 (NZ$186 and RM463 !!) Oh dear, so expensive… This Suzuki-san is approximately 100cm in height (Ooh, 2/3 of my height!), made out of polyester and other fibres. It’s also possible to replace the ribbon it comes with with your own. The material for Suzuki-san had been carefully selected to ensure the smoothness of its fur.
The good thing is that it comes out in September, which happens to be around my birthday. The bad news for me? This item… is limited. Of course it’s going to be sold out, and they’re expecting a fast and quick pre-orders too. Unless we make reservations, chances of finding one elsewhere is close to none. Meh… Someone would probably sell it on eBay for godawfully cutthroat price that may as well suck the life out of me.
*sighs and wails* Suzuki-san~
