Doujin Overload 2008

August 9th, 2008 | 6 Comments | Posted in Doujinshi, Events, Info, Media

Oh, dear… I’ve been hacked and denied access for a few weeks. Now that things are setted, I can go about updating this blog. I miss it so much ~_~

I seriously didn’t expect my second semester of 2008 would be so hectic. That, plus the storm and costant rain here in Auckland which caused everything to be so gloomy. The sky is clear as I’m typing this entry, but I can still hear the sky rumbling.

This is a looooong overdue entry about the event I attended on… er… July 27. Yes, so long ago ~_~

The wind was pretty strong that day, and being the idiot that I was, I didn’t bother to check the weather services. It turned out that last Saturday recorded the worse storm in the last decade, which resulted in three deaths and a crap load of damages. But anyway, I went to the event with Mira and Kaara (the latter joined us a bit later) after mine and Mira’s scheduled meeting with our course coordinator, Sheryl. When we reached Mercure Hotel, we were almost frozen.

There were several cosplayers at the entrance; Kuchiki Rukia mulling over her pink handphone got me gigling before I went through the door to see the works on display and on sale by the exhibitor.

Go on reading for random pics and (cosplay) performance videos.

Junjou Romantica Episode 6 + Sub (SoftSub)

Junjou Romantica 06 - Wazawai Tenjite Fuku to Nasu
(Blessing in Disguise)

[DOWNLOAD VIDEO FILE] - [DOWNLOAD SUBTITLE FILE]
*please comment if downloading, as usual :)

EDIT: Yup, head over to Aarinfantasy to download JR 06 hardsubbed!! XD

EDIT2: I’ll be replacing the video with a better quality one. You’re welcome to redownload the file later. After tomorrow, I won’t have anymore assignment due (at least until two weeks later), so I can focus on the sub :D

EDIT3: Replaced LQ copy with HQ one. Bigger screen :D

So, what I dub as the break-up-and-make-up arc is finally over. And the episode is just so cute too. Darn, Hiroki. I wonder how Nowaki survived 6 years without him actually voicing out his feelings. At least tell the guy you love him, even if you don’t tell him to the extent of which you love him. Seriously, that’s why your Nowaki got those ideas of ‘not standing on the same level as Hiro-san’ ~_~

Bleh… Sorry for getting all emotional. Junjou Egoist begs for it, I swear.

I’m done with one paper (which involved 4230 words total, me almost late in submitting it to the department and me getting lost on the way to Fisher International Building T_T). I still have to submit another one this… Monday. Tsk. So if you’re in a hurry, don’t wait too eagerly for the SoftSub. I’m sure Aarin will release the hardsub soon~ But if I’m feeling overly creative and awake, it would probably be done by tomorrow morning.

On another case, my day-of-hell yesterday was relieved by what I found in my mailbox :)

Yay for Junjou Romantica letter kit!! I didn’t expect it to arrive so fast, since I ordered it only a few days ago. I’m sure I wrote about it in Livejournal very recently. Anyway, I guess there’s no way I’m going to use it! Quoting my LJ entry, you’ve got to love those ‘Disagreeable Ukes + Suzuki-san’ XD XD XD

And let’s have a Japanese proverb usage corner in each episode. This episode uses Wazawai Tenjite Fuku to Nasu, which is equivalent to ‘Blessing in Disguise’ in English. For example, if you want to say that ‘the encounter/meeting with someone was a blessing in disguise’, you could say (I’ll use Hiro as an example of someone):

ヒロさんとの出会いは 禍転じて福となった
Hiro-san to no deai wa wazawai tenjite fuku to natta.
(The encounter with Hiro-san was a blessing in disguise)

*note that ‘nasu’ was changed to ‘natta’ to indicate past tense.

Until later~

Junjou Romantica Phone Strap

Junjou Romantica phone strap featuring Nuigurumi Suzuki-san with a tag bearing the message: “You may speak of love once you have experienced it.” Quite a heavy message despite its simplicity.
